No Connectivity to Internet or Fast Access

 

 

If you can not access the Fast Access Server or the internet (Yahoo, Emscharts) try the sequence below to reconnect to the internet before you contact shift captain or IT Dept.

 

 

The problem is the computer has lost the internet protocol address which may be a Time Warner issue. We need to document the number of occurrences and specific locations before we contact Time Warner. If you have connectivity problems do these steps as listed.

 

Reboot the computer

 

Reattempt to connect; if still not able turn off the computer and the modem also.

 

Wait two –three minutes and then turn back on the modem.

 

Wait until all lights come on with the modem and then turn on the computer (laptop).

 

After the computer comes back on reattempt to connect again. 

 

Also if the wireless will not connect to laptop do same sequence but also include turning off the wireless modem before turning on the laptop.

 

 Remember the Content Protect is extremely slow when rebooting the laptop. Make sure reboot is complete before trying to start internet connection.

 

 

If after these attempts connectivity still fails contact shift captain or Allen Pruitt. If  you do these items and it corrects the problem please send an email to ccemsjmccurry@yahoo.com so we can contact Time Warner with specific numbers and complaints. In email about problem include the date, time and base location with any comments.
