Laptop Issues

Laptop Shut Down: 2/8/08 We have know of a long standing problem with the laptops freezing or needing to be shut down and restarted. However the laptop would not shut down. The easy answer was slide the on/off switch and shut the unit down manually. With this approach many times the laptop did not restart correctly.

The preferred method to shut the unit down is to  Click on the Start Button (bottom left), Choose Shut Down. When the pull down window appears make sure the Shut Down is selected. Hold the CTRL button down while clicking OK. This will require the laptop to shut down quickly and properly. Once the laptop does shut down then slide the on / off switch to restart.

** Laptop Changes : posted 1/23  New software has been installed on M21 & M22 laptops. With this software some changes are apparent. When you log in to desktop it takes 2-3 minutes to log in. ***. posted 1/20 In an effort to improve the performance of emscharts mobile a major software change and emscharts version upgrade will begin Monday 1/21/08. Content Protect will be taken off the laptops with Microsoft Steady State used in it's place. With these changes it is felt that performance will greatly improve on the laptops. Security will not be effected.
