Section 28.1 

Educational Allowances/Supplements/Educational Compensation 

Purpose:  To provide funding and assistance to Cleveland Co. EMS Personnel   participating in educational programs. 

(a) All full time CCEMS personnel will have a $100.00 personal educational fund  available for the purpose of: 

(i) attending educational courses that require tuition

(ii) defray personal costs when traveling to educational opportunities 

(b) Personal educational funds are not to be used for (i.e.): 

(i) funding personal monetary ventures

(ii) purchase of books or videos

(iii) purchase of computer programs

(iv) activities that do not advance the EMS cause 

(c) Personal educational funds shall be used for education that is relevant to the  emergency medical profession. 

(d) Personal alottments of these monies cannot be given over to another individual. 

(e) Receipts or other proofs of payment shall be furnished to the finance department  when requests for this alottment is made by individuals. Other materials that  could be furnished include: 

(i) Official course outlines and registration materials

(ii) Accomodation verification

(iii) Copies of personal checks sent to the event registration center 

(f) A request for pre payment of educational opportunities must be acommpanied by a  reasonable explanation. (i.e.) see (e), (i) thru (iii). 

(g) Requests for refunds or pre payments shall be made no later than April 15th of the  budget year or earlier if indicated by the Cleveland Co. finance department. 

(h) Falsification of requests shall result in revocation of future monies available for  personal education. 

(i) CCEMS will continue to fund ACLS recertification at CRMC.  

(j) Actual time spent in inservice training shall be reported on the employee's time  sheet.  

(k) CCEMS employees who work full time or part time for other EMS providers shall  only request compensation from one agency. Acceptance of dual pay will cause  termination of employment.
